"The 365 self-portraits project is the result of research, testing, individual and creative challenge. For a whole year, every day the artist made at least one work, using a minimal amount of art materials. She had her own body, and the artistic task was reduced to finding a visual language by limiting the subject, means and time. The series was created from April 28, 2017 to May 30, 2018. The entire project was published throughout the year on the artist's personal profile on Instagram @helen_hil under the hashtag #365daysproject. "" The artist prescribed art to herself as a medicine to be taken daily, rather as a therapeutic treatment or psychotherapy session whose presence is mandatory, regardless of one's desire, strength or mood. She consciously tamed her creative imagination and inspiration, laziness and fatigue, indecision and ambition. And this allowed her to focus on finding and accepting herself, as well as developing and refining the author's artistic language," says KH Cosmic Gallery curator Lizaveta Mikhalchuk. Lena Gil herself describes her first full-fledged art project as follows: "" 365 self-portraits are about the process, not the result. Each day stuck to the previous one. This approach made it possible to move not linearly, but deeper. It became important to me! This is my visual diary for 365 days. The complete 365 self-portraits project consists of 6 artist's sketchbooks, about 600 drawings for the first half of the year, a general grid notebook on chemistry and a book "on human anatomy, physiology and hygiene" for the second half of the year. Mixed technique, year 2017-2018, Minsk, Belarus" Alena Hil
