Agnieszka Kutylak-Hapanowicz
Graduated in Polish philology and editing from the Jagiellonian University, lives and works in Krakow as an editor and illustrator. Her inspiration is animate nature: insects, reptiles, but especially birds. Her work is heavily influenced by old 17th- and 18th-century engravings from natural history atlases. Most of Kutylak-Hapanovich's creatures, however, have no counterpart in the real world, existing only in imagination and dreams.
She uses watercolor, ink, acrylics, gilding, as well as paints made by her own hands from mineral and vegetable pigments. He creates on paper, on canvas and on natural surfaces such as stone and reclaimed wood.
