Painter and printmaker, student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the ateliers of Mehoffer, Wyczółkowski, Pankiewicz, one of the most prominent representatives of Stanislawski's landscape school. Lecturer and later professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, member of the Art and Vienna Secession. During World War I he served in the Polish Legions, during World War II he was active in the underground, arrested in 1944 he died in the Mauthausen-Gusen camp. He practiced landscape painting, with a particular fondness for painting winter motifs of villages near Krakow, views of mountains, as well as flowered summer meadows and still lifes.
