Biography
Stroynowski's history with painting began with lessons with Vladimir Kisliczny, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Then in 1882-87 and 1890-92 he attended the School of Fine Arts, in Cracow, where he studied with Jan Matejko, among others. The painter repeatedly won awards and scholarships. After completing his studies, he embarked on a journey to the Caucasus, among other places. Upon his return, he settled in Cracow and began teaching at the Adrian Baraniecki Higher Courses for Women. His work focused on women's lives, landscapes, folk themes as well as portraits.
