Józef Graczyński (Czempin 1866 - Poznań 1939) studied painting from 1886 to 1891 at the courses of M. Jaroczyński and M. Krajewski in Poznań. In 1889 he was in Berlin, after 1891 he stayed briefly in Munich, and also traveled to Dresden and Krakow. In 1901 he was a co-founder of the Artists' Association in Poznań, and also belonged to the TPSP and the Painters' Association. He exhibited in Poznań, Bydgoszcz, Cracow, Warsaw and in Paris and Berlin. He painted portraits, genre scenes and landscapes, including numerous landscapes of Wielkopolska. The artist's works can be found, among others, in the collections of museums in Bydgoszcz and Leszno.
