Biography
Son of the prominent composer, Stanislaw. Since 1871 he studied painting at the Warsaw Drawing Class under Wojciech Gerson and Antoni Kaminski, and privately under Gerson and B. Dziadulewicz. In 1878 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. He painted genre, historical, historical-royal and religious scenes. His works are distinguished by good composition, colorfulness, sense of mood and style of historical eras. In 1879, at an exhibition in Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery, he attracted critical attention with his painting "The First Meeting of Jadwiga with Jagiello." He exhibited many times at Zachęta, the Krywult Salon, the Ungra Salon and the Art Salon, where a group exhibition of his works (about 50 paintings) was held in 1905. He also exhibited in Krakow, Lodz and Kiev.
