Paintings signed "J. Konarski" appear on the auction market, showing a connection with the paintings of Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski. Hans-Peter Buhler acknowledged in his monograph of the Munich painters "Jozef Brandt, Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski et al. that this is the pseudonym of Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski himself, who was said to have so signed less successful works. It is more likely, however, that these are paintings by Franciszek Bujakiewicz (1856-1918), who painted in the same style and for unknown reasons also used a pseudonym.
