Very beautiful portrait of a best man in a Krakow outfit. In the background the artist showed the Wawel Hill - a meaningful symbol of Polishness in the context of the date of the work's creation (1944).
The work is framed in a stylish period frame. Minor retouching of the frame. On the reverse a sticker of D. A. Rempex.
Henryk Uziembło (1879-1944) - painter, graphic artist and designer. Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under the tutelage of Teodor Axentowicz, Stanislaw Wyspianski, among others. In later years, he received education in, among others. Vienna and Paris. His work often involved decorative art, designing book covers and diplomas.
