In 1931-39 the painter spent her summer vacations with her husband in Wiśniowa on the Wisłok River, known as the "Polish Barbizon," staying in the hospitable manor house of Jan and Helena Mycielski. Numerous preserved works of artists from this period with Wiśniowa motifs confirm that stays at the Mycielskis' proved to be extremely fruitful. Wiśniowa was also a frequent recurring motif in the Cybises' later reminiscences.
