Franz Xaver von Hofstetten niemiecki malarz pejzażysta. Studiowała na Uniwersytecie w Monachium. Obrazy zaczął wystawiać stosunkowo wcześnie. W 1830 roku zaprezentował cykl siedmiu pejzaży w ramach wystawy organizowanej przez Towarzystwo Sztuki w Monachium (Kunstverein München). 
 
Artysta malował głównie widoki górskie, inspiracje czerpał z krajobrazów południowej Bawarii i Austrii.
