Constant David Ludovic ARTZ - animalist painter specializing in studies of nature. He was born in Paris, to David Adolph Constant Artz (1837-1890), a Dutch landscape and genre scene painter. The young Artz lived and worked in the Netherlands. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. In 1899, he also began taking lessons from George Offermans' (1854-1911) Tony Lodewijk. A subject eagerly pursued by the painter was depictions of ducks. His artistic oeuvre also includes landscapes depicting the typical Dutch landscape. The artist's works can be found in numerous private collections.
