Biography
Bronisława Rychter-Janowska (1868 Kraków - 1953 Kraków) - Polish painter, publicist. She studied painting at the Munich academy (1898-1901), continued her studies at the Florence academy and in Rome, as well as in Cracow under J. Stanislawski. In 1909-1910 she ran a painting school in Stary Sącz. Bronislawa Rychter-Janowska's work is distinguished by its subtlety and moodiness, masterful play of light and shadow. A favorite subject of her works was a Polish manor house and its interiors. She also painted still lifes and portraits. Rychter-Janowska's paintings are in many Polish and foreign museums and private collections.
