SIEROSZEWSKI Waclaw - From wave to wave. Kraków [1909]. Sp. Nakł. "Książka". 16d, pp. [4], 400, [1], XXV. bound in period fl.
Binding slightly rubbed, plywood lined, overall good condition. Bibliot. stamp, inventory number. Owner's signature. "S. Minkiewiczowa". Impressions of a trip to Japan. On the back of the title page inked author's own protective signature. On the pre-title page handwritten dedication by the author: "To Józik Minkiewicz in memory of a night acquaintance.... Waclaw Sieroszewski friend of Mommy and Daddy. Pulawy 6 XII 1926." - The godfather of the recipient was Jozef Pilsudski, Head of State, who stayed in Pulawy from August 13 to 16, 1920, and where, among other things, he signed the order to launch the counteroffensive from the banks of the Wieprz River. Despite his many duties, he found time to carry his son Stanislaw and Stefania Minkiewicz - his friends from his service in the First Brigade of the Legions - to his baptism. The baptism took place at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, commonly known as "the church on the hill." At the end: "Excerpt from the catalog of the Nakładowa Spółka "Książka" in Cracow. Fine literature."
