[TAFEFOBIA - fear of being buried alive]. Four patents by Michal Karnicki devoted to devices enabling the hastily buried to free themselves from the coffin from 1896-1897.
Four prints (Patentenschrift) from the Swiss Eidgenössisches Amt für Geistiges Eigentum (Federal Office for the Protection of Intellectual Property) in Bern confirming the granting of a patent to Michal Karnicki of Warsaw for four devices he invented enabling rescue of those buried alive. They made it possible to open a coffin from the inside or to send a rescue signal to the surface using a flag or bell. Each print includes a description of the invention and a drawing of it on the board. Format 26.5x18.5 cm. The assembly contains:
