Polonica 4461. covers slightly rubbed, corner of front cover creased, inside good condition. The first volume of the Library of "Culture" and at the same time the first edition of one of the most important works of our literature concerning the essence of Polishness. The author himself described "Trans-Atlantic" as a polemic against Mickiewicz's "Pan Tadeusz" and the romantic perception of the world. "The Vow" - is the second in turn and one of three dramas written by Gombrowicz. The present edition is a first edition of both works. Both were written in Argentina. Attached is a leaflet "To the national readers of 'Kultura'" on the attack on the Parisian monthly carried out in the national press.
