Warsaw- Kraków 1913/ Wyd. J. Mortkowicz/ binding, hardback with cloth spine/21.5x27cm/s.20,19,9/ twelve color plates, one pasted on face of cover, one on frontispiece, ten on separate pages/ good condition, spine and corners professionally restored, back cover taped, inside minor soiling on corners in places, one plate loose, 1914 entry on title page, minor ownership stamps on several pages. Unpaginated.


Book with twelve signed illustrations by Edmund Dulac of the highly regarded British-French artist who illustrated Charlotte Brontë's Jayne Eyre, Edgar Allan Poe's The Bells and Other Poems, and Hans Christian Andersen's Stories, among others. Dulac was one of the designers of the Wilding series of stamps, which were the first stamps of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.
