In the paper, Loth presents his research on the arrangement of the cutaneous cotyledons on the foot and hand in Poles. The author seeks to determine what variations exist in the arrangement of the dermal cotyledons in different ethnic groups, including Poles. Loth also describes the research methods he used to thoroughly study this arrangement in humans. This work is important because the arrangement of the dermal cotyledons on the hands and feet is one of the anatomical features that allow for individual identification. Loth was keen to study in detail the arrangement of the dermal cotyledons in Poles in order to gain knowledge of the differences between them and other ethnic groups, which was important for anthropological and forensic purposes. This work is still appreciated by scientists, and its results have been used in research in anthropology and forensic science.
