The father of Maria Krüger, author of "The Gift of the River Fly," was one of the greatest Polish travelers and ethnologists between the wars. He was passionate about the legends of various peoples and cultures, which he wrote down and translated into Polish. During his travels in Asia, Indonesia, Africa and South America, he collected hundreds of fairy tales, fables, legends and tales of various peoples. On the basis of the family collection, Maria Krüger compiled several dozen of the most interesting fairy tales and legends from the farthest corners of the world for children. This is how "The Gift of the River Fly" was created, one of the most interesting collections of tales, fables and legends of the world that have been prepared for children in the Polish language.
