Marta Gibiete
Diploma in art glass from the Faculty of Visual Arts (3D), Riga Academy of Fine Arts, Latvia, 2005. From 2002-2016, she received numerous scholarships and grants for art projects.
Award of the Ebeltoft Museum of Glass, Glasmuseet Ebeltoft, Denmark, in the international Young Glass 97 competition; Jutta Cuny-Franz Foundation Award, Hentrich Museum of Glass, Dusseldorf Palace of Art, Germany, 1999. Nomination for the Latvian Academy of Fine Arts Award, 2011.
Participation in 8 solo exhibitions and more than 100 international exhibitions, including. Young Glass 97, Museum of Glass in Ebeltoft; Women Glass Artists Today, Palace of Art in Dusseldorf, 2000; Coburger Glaspreis, Coburg, Germany, 2006, 2014; International Glass Exhibition in Kanazawa, Japan, 2007; European Glass Context, Bornholm, Denmark, 2008, 2016; "UFO Unique-Form-Object", European Glass Festival "Play with Glass" in Wroclaw, Poland, 2013; Lux Aeterna, International Glass Biennale in Strasbourg, France, 2015.
Her works are in the collections of, among others, the Museum of Glass in Ebeltoft, Denmark; the Palace of Art in Dusseldorf; the Ernsting Foundation Glass Museum, Ernsting Stiftung, Coesfeld, Germany; the Latvian Embassy in Berlin, Germany; the Museum of Decorative Art and Design in Riga, Latvia.
She enjoys cycling and picking mushrooms.
