Badge in the form of an eagle with outspread wings sitting on an Amazonian shield with the letters DSP. The head is topped with a closed crown. On the reverse a threaded post. Die-beaten. A rare variety minted from steel plate (not brass like most).

The eagle was designed by Lt. Bohdan Garlinski, adjutant to General Bronislaw Prugar-Ketling, for the soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Rifle Division. The division was interned in Switzerland after the French Campaign of 1940.

This version of the eagle is mentioned in Tomasz Zawistowski's book. "Polish Eagles on Caps 1939-45" on page 146, illustration 287, dimensions 53 mm x 31 mm.
