First edition of this novel by a prominent Young Poland writer who combined positivist postulates with Romantic aesthetics alluding to Romanticism. The novel consists of three parts: "Glass Houses," "Nawłoć," and "Wind from the East." It tells the story of the life of Cezary Baryka, a representative of the young generation, born and raised in Baku, arriving in Poland reborn after World War I.
