Abrasions and stains of the binding, missing signboards on the spine in volume 1. Rust spots on pages, traces of wetting of several initial pages in vol. 1. Missing 2 color engravings, marked in red crayon in margins and text in places. Preserved non. fragment of map in vol. 1., loss of eng. Casimiro il Grande. History of Poland illustrated with numerous copperplate engravings. One of the richest books on Poland in engravings. The engravings were created according to Polish and foreign illustrators, including Orlowski, Oleszczynski, E. Sulkowska, F. Dietrich, engraved by Italian engravers; 2 color maps of Poland fig. by author. (including ex. 1 map damaged); plan of Warsaw signed W. Poloski disc., plan of Cracow signed Mostowski fec. Engravings with portraits, views, battle and historical scenes, costuming was documentary material. Particularly noteworthy is a color engraving depicting a fair scene (19 x 32 cm) according to a drawing by Aleksander Orlowski.
