2nd edition ( 1st edition was published in the same year). The most important work in the literary output of Stanislaw Wyspianski. The author took the idea for writing the drama from the wedding of his friend Lucjan Rydel with Jadwiga Mikołajczykówna, a native of Bronowice near Krakow. " The Wedding" is considered one of the most outstanding literary works of the Young Poland period. Its success made the hitherto little noticed writer into a creator compared with the national bards. The book edition was published a month and a half after the theatrical premiere, in late April and early May. The penultimate page prints the cast of the actors of the drama's premiere, staged in Krakow on March 16, 1901, and the last page prints the cast from the Lviv Theater on May 24, 1901.
From the book collections: Helena Dąbczańska (1863-1956), collector of books, works of art, donor of rich collections to many Polish museums, and Julian Krzyżanowski (1892-1976), prominent literary historian (stamps).
