The periodical Free Poland. Organ of the Union of Polish Patriots in Moscow.A political and cultural weekly founded by Wanda Wasilewska (1905-1964) and published from 1943-1946 in Moscow by the pro-communist Union of Polish Patriots. Its pages dealt with issues relating to the situation of Poles in the USSR and the problem of return fromdeportation("repatriation"). The magazine was intended to prepare Poles scattered across the Soviet Union for life in a Poland fundamentally different from the Second Republic: with shifted borders (without the borderlands, which were often their small homeland) and with a new, "people's" system. All issues of the newspaper 425x605mm, good condition, folds, yellowing.
