As one can read in Jan Zuk's preface: "Wiszniewski as an artist is characterized by the severity of his view of the world. bluntness of realistic with a certain aftertaste of primitivist naiveté in capturing reality, and agility in shaping the artistic vision. The artist absorbed the charms of folk art [...] This is also why Wiszniewski's works have a native, sincerely Polish stamp on them.".
Kazimierz Wiszniewski (1894-1960) - painter and graphic artist, suffering from deafness. He studied with Ignacy Pienkowski, Konrad Krzyzanowski and Wladyslaw Skoczylas (Warsaw School of Fine Arts), among others. The work of W. Skoczylas had the greatest influence on him and directed him to choose woodcut as the main technique for his works.
