Contains partially rewritten texts from the 1933 volume "Memoirs of the Maturing Period." The title of the book presented here comes from the name of the Bacacay street in Buenos Aires, where the author lived. "Bacacay" was published in Poland in the wave of the post-October thaw ("Ferdydurke" and "Trans-Atlantyk" also came out then); Gombrowicz's next work ("Events on the Banbury Brig") was not officially published in the country until 1982.
