E. 32, 17. Slight rubbing of spine, loss of corner of front pastedown, minor stains inside, glued loss of one plate, repaired card margins in several places. 3 plates missing. Bibliot. ex-libris, bibliot. stamp. Description of the siege of Vienna by the Turks, marginalizing the participation of the Poles. "Contains a description of the war from its very outbreak. The tendency of the book is to show that the main hero of the victory was Stahremberg and Prince Lorraine, hence the participation of the Poles reduced to a small size. Of the Poles, Kulczycki is treated most favorably, but presented as a Viennese bourgeois [...]. He continues to reproach the Poles for their propensity to plunder [...], emphasizes their defeats suffered in the attack at Vienna; only the help of German troops led to their victory [...]. led to their victory [...]. The greatest booty was assigned to the Polish king" (Estreicher). The author consistently avoids mentioning the name of Jan III Sobieski, referring to him only as "König". The copy includes a portrait of Kulczycki (on p. 46), the location of the Turkish army camp near Vienna (p. 133), a fold-out table of the "Ordre de Bataille," and on the fold-out plate a fragment of the fortifications of Vienna.
