SZYMBORSKA Wisława - Tarsius and other poems. Graphic design by Barbara Gawdzik-Brzozowska. Warsaw 1976; KAW. 8, p. [32]. brochure, wraps.
Very good condition. Published in 860 numbered pieces, this number 550. Now a bibliophilic rarity in a graphic arrangement by Barbara Gawdzik-Brzozowska with poems where animals and plants appear and the thematically related poem "Astonishment":
Why in too one person?
This one and not another? And what am I doing here?
On the day what is Tuesday? In a house not a nest?
In a skin not a husk? With a face not a leaf?
Why only once in person?
Just on the ground? By a small star?
After so many eras of absence?
For all times and all algae?
To the caverns and the heavens?
Just now? To the flesh and blood?
Alone at home with herself? Why
Not next door or a hundred miles away,
Not yesterday or a hundred years ago
I sit and look into a dark corner
- Just as with a head suddenly raised
Stares a growl called a dog?
