Thebook is a description of a hunting expeditionto Sudan which the Author - the first editor of the Polish Hunter - took in 1901 together with Count Józef Potocki at his invitation, and to whom he dedicated his book: "To the brave sportsman, excellent author of hunting works, Józef hr. Potocki, as a token of honor, this work is dedicated by the Author."
This invitation read as follows: "I would consider myself fortunate if you would like to go with me; expedition, weapons prepared for two; departure from Trjest on January 10, return at the end of March; land healthy, not febrile; please reply. Joseph Potocki."
The book will be an interesting complement to all works devoted to the expeditions of Count Józef Potocki. It provides an account of a hunting expedition to the Blue Nile region. Initial plans called for hunting along the right bank of the White Nile, but due to the fact that other hunting expeditions were taking place at the time - and Count Hoyos went hunting in the White Nile area - they were changed and, on the advice of the locals, it was decided to march to the Blue Nile, which was also expected to be rich in big game.
Throughout the expedition, its participants hunted the following species of big game: elephant, lion, buffalo, hippopotamus, antelope: roan, hartebeest, roan, basmat, mora; antelope: ariel, russet; warthogs and many species of birds.
The author also describes the results of other hunting expeditions that were taking place around the Nile at the time, including Rev. Arenberg's expedition, Rev. Lichtenstein's expedition, the Hoyos-Buxton expedition, and the Teleky-Coloredo expedition.
