Good condition, rubbing of covers, some browning on pages. The Merry Wives of Windsor - a comedy by William Shakespeare. It is his only dramatic work set exactly in the time and place in which he himself lived - in England of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. It is considered a masterful portrait of the customs of the era. The title The Merry Wives of Windsor was introduced by one of the first Polish translators of Shakespeare, Jozef Paszkowski. On the other hand, the translator of the offered edition, Placyd Jankowski, decided on a different title. Placyd Jankowski (1810-1872) - a Polish Unitarian and later Orthodox clergyman, writer.
