The first of the books on which the famous series was based. "A famous researcher, as well as the author of many scientific dissertations in biology, Balthazar Sponge travels to the Land of Rainforests to observe the customs of flying frogs and to gather new information for his work. His long absence from his homeland worries Prince Krak, who orders an expedition to bring the scientist back home. An expedition, which includes the Wawel Dragon and Bartholomew Bartholomew of the Green Parsley Coat of Arms (the court cook), comes to the rescue from Krakow. They set off for the Land of the Rainforest in an amphibious car. Their trail is followed by a spy from the Land of Rainbows, Don Pedro de Pommidore. "
