A SONG for the anniversary of the founding of the circle in Königsberg, which may serve also for other Circles, arranged by Juliusz Ligoń [...]. [Chorzow 1873]. Printed by Tomasz Nowacki in Mikolow.
Single-sided printing on ark. 47.7x18.7 cm. Song to the melody of the hymn "God, something Poland": "What has gathered us so numerous today, / Old and young here to this circle? / Where it is pleasant for us all to play together, / Where love nourishes one to another? / Here is the anniversary of the Circle's founding, / Our fun is the main reason [...]". The song was written on the anniversary of Karol Miarka's founding of the Chorzow Social Circle, also known as the Polish Circle. He established it in 1872 after the Prussian authorities closed the Catholic Casino for election agitation. The author of "Singing" was a Silesian poet and social activist, secretary, librarian and later vice-president of the Circle. Traces of folding, edges of sheet taped in several places, traces of dampness.
