V. Sokorski (1908-1999) - Brigadier General of the Polish Army, writer, politician. During the war he was a member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) and at the same time of the Polish Workers' Party (PPR), co-organizer of the Union of Polish Patriots in the USSR, in the 1950s Minister of Culture and Art (one of the main promoters of Socialist Realism), later Chairman of the Radio and Television Committee for many years, Builder of People's Poland.
