Local staining of the binding, otherwise good condition. Album containing nearly 300 sports photographs by famous German film director and photographer Leni Riefenstahl (1902-2003), creator of new photographic aesthetics, during Nazi Germany author of propaganda films and photographs glorifying the Third Reich. The photos were taken during the 1936 Berlin Olympics and many have gone down in photographic history. The album begins with photographs of fragments of Greek ruins, while further on the artist includes a series of male and female nudes inspired by ancient sculptures from Greece. The main part of the album is occupied by excellent photographs of athletes of various sports, from different countries and nations. The last few photos show the author at work.
