Widukind of Corbei (Latin: Widukindus Corbeius) (ca. 925 - after 973) - monk of the Benedictine monastery in New Corbei (Saxony), author of the chronicle "Res gestae saxonicae", known as Widukind's Chronicle, which contains the oldest mention of the state of Mieszko I and his battles with the Wichman graf. The offered manuscript is from the 18th century, handmade paper with large legible filigree, calligraphic writing, all in Polish and concerning Poland, on the upper corner of p. [1] handwritten : Nr. 1817, loss of part of the margin of p. [1] with a small loss of text on one p., traces of old folds, good condition.
