Volume III of the book "The Battle for Monte Cassino", in the first edition printed in Italy in 1947.

The publication was written by one of the most prominent Polish authors of the twentieth century, Melchior Wańkowicz, an eyewitness to the stories and situations described in the books. Wańkowicz served during the fighting in Italy with the 2nd Polish Corps as a correspondent. The triptych contains nearly 2,000 photographs commemorating the battles of the 2KP.The hardcover is made of canvas, with the outlines of the Monte Cassino cross and military eagles visible on the front cover in the center.
