Drawings by Antoni Zaleski (1824-1885), a draughtsman and illustrator who became famous just for his illustrations to Pasek's "Memoirs", and here reproduced chromolithographs and woodcuts by this author.
Jerzy Laskarys (1828-88), was a Polish poet and journalist, publishing under the charming pseudonym Bocian of Vilnius. He studied in St. Petersburg, took part in the struggles of the January Uprising, and then stayed in exile in Paris until 1870. His literary output included "Cards from Life" (1856), "Five Hymns" (1858), "Simple People" (1858), "Salon Rarogi" (1860), and "Civic Rarogi" (1861).
