Edition 1. The Polish Encyclopedia of the Nobility was published from December 1934 to February 1939. Poland's first publication of such wide scope in the field of both heraldry and genealogy, covering 5400 pages of print, showing about 1000 images of Polish coats of arms and describing several thousand names of Polish nobility.
Among other things, it contains: alphabetical descriptions of coats of arms, lists of Polish noble families, lists of coats of arms, lists of titled families, explanations of types of shields, colors, metals and furs used in Polish heraldry, coats of arms and lists of districts and provinces in the pre-partition Republic, castellanies, organization of the pre-partition Republic with lists of dignitaries of the Crown and Lithuania.
