POLLAK Roman - The expedition of the Silesian scouts through Orava and the Tatra Mountains to Spisz. With a foreword by E. Romer. Lvov 1919. Książnica Pol. 16d, pp. VII, [1], 160, map rozkł. 1. opr. pp.
Blazejewski 1213. frontispiece card slightly o tart, otherwise good condition. Bibliot. stamp, own signature. A very interesting account of a multi-day expedition by scouts of the Tadeusz Rejtan troop in Orłowa, Cieszyn Silesia, carried out in 1914 through the Żywiec Beskid, Orava, Podhale, Pieniny, Spisz and through the Tatra Mountains to Zakopane. The text contains a wealth of important observations and descriptions of a sightseeing-ethnographic nature, all the more interesting because they are spontaneous and unfettered by professional preparation. The book well reflects the spirit of Polish scouting of the time, deeply imbued with patriotism and the idea of getting to know one's country.
