Special edition - at the beginning of volume 3 an obituary of the historian and a card with a handwritten provenience annotation by Marek Szypulski (also the author of the binding) with information that he received this item from the author's wife, Mrs. Maria Pobóg-Malinowska, in gratitude for organizing the writer's archive in 1973-1974. Volume 2 covering the period 1914-1939 in the 2nd edition, revised, corrected and supplemented and illustrated in 1967; volume 3 of 1960 appeared as part two of volume two and covers the period 1939-1945.
