Hardcover, two volumes, black and white and color illustrations, 476 pages, 22.5 x 21 cm
Publisher: Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Cracow, KRAKÓW 2012, pp. 279, 195, dimensions 20.5 x 25.5, hardcover cloth, 2 volumes in case, very good condition. Two-volume album. One part contains photographs, the other - essays related to photographs, their archiving and safe storage.
The book is the result of an experiment, based on the archival resources of the four partners of the Photo Proxima project: the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow, the Malopolska Region, the French Institute for the Memory of Contemporary Writing (IMEC) and the Italian Foundation for the History of Photography Fratelli Alinari. The first volume is a photographic story that begins with seven sequences of photographs. Each of them, in its own way, opens the entire collection - as each author would see the beginning of a book. Readers are guided here by a text by the book's editor, Dorota Gruszka, who explains the method of working on the book, the selection of photos and their layout. The second volume presents essays by invited authors from France, Italy and Poland. All texts are included in four languages: Polish, English, French and Italian.
