Good condition. The book was originally published conspiratorially in 1943, reissued in 1947, and then on the wave of the October thaw. The professor wrote: "When the lack of freedom of speech has characterized the life of a collective for some extended period of time, when one begins to feel this condition as something normal [...] one no longer wants to think. The lack of freedom of speech paralyzes the individual mental development of individuals, and introduces distrust into social relations and nullifies their deepest layers. The lack of freedom of speech stifles the development of culture, kills its richness" (p. 54).
