Minor stains, good condition. Ex. uncut. Former owner's notes. Third edition of "Thoughts on Hunting." The book first came out in 1781, and its author P. Beckford (1740-1811) was a British landowner, writer, collector and, above all, an avid hunter. He passes on his extensive experience in this field to his friend in the form of letters written to him. On the frontispiece, a figure of the goddess of hunting Artemis stenciled by F. Bartolozi according to a composition by G. B. Cipriani.
