Polish Conversations. 1999 - 2004.
Collected works. Kraków 2010 (1st ed.) . Wyd. Literackie. 8, pp. 1053, [2], hardcover. Condition b. good. The book is a collection of interviews that Czeslaw Milosz gave in the last five years of his life. All of them were already printed in the Polish-language press and in book publications. Some of them were published after the Nobel Prize winner's death, in 2005-2006. In addition, the Appendix includes conversations from 1979-1998, omitted from the first volume due to their occasional nature or found after the completion of work on Polish Conversations 1979-1998. Miłosz's interlocutors include Tadeusz Różewicz, Ireneusz Kania, Anna Bikont, Włodzimierz Bolecki, Marek Edelman, Lech Wałęsa, Stefan Chwin, Piotr Najsztub, Joanna Szczęsna, Adam Szostkiewicz, Father Józef Sadzik, Jerzy Turowicz and Tomas Venclova. And the disputes themselves concern: culture, literature, philosophy, religion and history - the great and the private. We will also find here portraits of friends, anecdotes, penetrating observations or forecasts, the validity of which is already easy to verify today.
