MICKIEWICZ Adam - Sinjoro Tadeo aǔ lasta armita posedopreno en Litvo. (Pola epopeo "Pan Tadeusz"). Esperanta traduko de Antoni Grabowski. Warsaw 1918. eldono kun helpo de Esperantista Rondeto. 8, pp. [4], VII, [1], 5-303, [3]. Binding, common fawn.
Loss of corner of last page, end pages slightly browned. "Pan Tadeusz" in translation into Esperanto. The translation was made by A. Grabowski (1857-1921) - a chemical engineer, publicist, and above all an activist in the international Esperanto movement. He was an Esperanto teacher, author of the "Dictionary of the Esperanto Language," co-founder of the Akademio de Esperanto, and president of the Polish Esperanto Association. "After meeting Zamenhof, Grabowski set himself the goal of translating major works of world literature into Esperanto" (Wikipedia). Among them was also "Pan Tadeusz," on the translation of which Grabowski worked in Warsaw during the years of the First World War (a plaque on a building on Hoża Street in Warsaw commemorates this fact).
