The title of the book can be translated into Polish as "A type of glory from the ancestors of the Massalskis, by letter written with the pen of the Holy Cross for the ages of memory enshrined and under the auspices of the Most Excellent Sparta, by the dignified entrance of the most illustrious Lord Michael Joseph Massalski, notary of Grodno, Radoszkowian, Bernicanin, etc., captain, to the public reading of the joyful promulgation given, in the greatest respect to the famous name of Isajkowski of Grodno, by the Society of Jesus. The year of its entry into the world 1727 in a blaze of royal glory." Publications such as this one were popular in 18th century Poland, where the nobility often displayed their ancestry, merit and family prestige in this way. The poetic text is a praise of the Massalski family and their ancestors, highlighting their merits and values.
