"From the History of the Polish Arms" constituted a kind of textbook for training soldiers. They cover the history from the establishment of the Polish state up to the Spanish Civil War in 1936-1939 and emphasize Polish participation in it. The entire book is decorated with numerous black-and-white and color illustrations by Karol Linger (1920-1966). He was a painter, graphic artist, draughtsman, outstanding costume designer, author of books on uniforms and armament of the Polish army, lieutenant colonel of the Polish Army, curator of the Museum of the Polish Army.
