A monumental first dictionary of Polish language, an outstanding and pioneering achievement of Polish lexicography, constituting the largest and most costly publishing venture in the Duchy of Warsaw.
The dictionary was reissued as a second expanded and revised edition by August Bielowski in 1854-1860. Individual volumes were dedicated to: Stanisław Kostka Potocki; Stanisław Zamojski; Adam Czartoryski and Józef Poniatowski. Corrections and revisions to the first edition were made by Tymoteusz Lipinski, Jan Konrad Załuski, Dyonizy Zubrzycki, Felicyan Łobeski, Jan Wagilewicz.
A set of editions in a very good state of preservation, with occasional local discoloration on the pages (foxing), after conservation review, in a striking classic bibliophilic binding made by Antykwariat Polski.
