Dedie a la Reine pour l'usage de sa Maison. Paris 1728. chez la Veuve Mazieres et Garnier. (20 x 13.5 cm), f. [4], pp. XXXVI, 714, [2], 70, copperplate titlepage, 4 copperplates (including 3 on separate plates), vignettes and initials in woodcut, period leather binding .
Binding: maroon marocin with embossed and gilded superex-libris of Queen Maria Leszczyńska on both covers: coats of arms of France and the Republic of Poland (Polish Eagle and Lithuanian Chase, in the middle Leszczyński's coat of arms Wieniawa), all topped with royal crown. On the edges of the covers a simple gilt frame and lily pads in 4 corners. 6-field spine with gilded title and borders on individual fields, with images of lily pads in them. The edges of the pages gilded. Engravings depicting scenes from the life of Christ were done by Jean-Baptiste Scotin, who came from a family of engravers. Prayer book for Holy Week, dedicated to Queen Maria Leszczynska. Piece unique because it comes from the library of Queen Marie Leszczynska (1703-1768), daughter of King Stanislaw Leszczynski, wife of King Louis XV of France. Pieces with signs of dampstain and soiling, notations, tear and rubbing of stained vignette, several other pages with tears, binding with scuffs and rubbed corners.
