Jan Lemanski (born July 7, 1866 in Glazew near Plock, died November 11, 1933 in Warsaw) - Polish poet, satirist and fabulist of the Young Poland period. He was educated at a grammar school in Plock, and later at the Faculty of Law of the Imperial University of Warsaw. Beginning in 1894, he published minor works in Warsaw magazines. In 1901-1907 he was on the editorial board of Chimera magazine, where he often published his work. Between the wars he worked as an official at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, towards the end of his life as a film censor. Then he withdrew from literary life and ceased his activities.
In the memories of his contemporaries, Lemanski was remembered as an infantile freak. Irena Lorentowicz wrote of him: "A great friend of children, a freak and a wizard, a loner and a taciturn."
